Chevrolet Performance's COPO crate engines are engineered for NHRA's Stock Eliminator and Super Stock classes, offering sportman racers a range of factory-developed-and-assembled racing engines.
The 350, 396 and 427 naturally aspirated engines make a race car eligible for NHRA Stock Eliminator classes from AA/S to D/S, based primarily on weight and horsepower ratings. The 350 S/C engine makes cars eligible for AAA/S and AA/S classes. Consult the NHRA rule book at nhra.com for class and compliance guidelines.
Chevrolet Performance engineers designed and tested the engines with the same methods used to develop production engines, ensuring their performance and durability; and each engine is hand-assembled in a specially built facility.
COPO 396 - 404 hp
With the displacement of a classic Chevrolet Big-Block, the lightweight, all-aluminum COPO 396 racing engine delivers power reminiscent of vintage muscle cars, but with the high-rpm capability and vehicle balance dynamics that only an LS engine can deliver. An all-forged rotating assembly makes it a durable performer, too!
